Starting Point is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community. Starting Point groups are a safe place for people with questions about faith, as well as those who want to learn about the Bible and Christianity. Groups meet for 10 weeks and together explore the grand story of the Bible. One of the goals of Starting Point is to help participants find their places in the story.
Your first step is to attend a 15-minute Starting Point Orientation. At the orientation, you'll hear all about Starting Point, be able to ask questions, have an opportunity to sign up for a Starting Point group, and find out where to purchase your materials. Dates and times of upcoming groups will be shared at the end of each orientation.
There's no commitment when you come to the orientation; just show up to find out more! Orientations typically last about 15 minutes, and your children may attend orientation with you.
If your Starting Point group meets outside the church and the cost of childcare would prevent you from being able to participate in your group, we'd like to help out.
The process is easy. Simply fill out the Childcare Assistance Application and we'll process it within 5-7 business days and then get back to you with all the information you need. The assistance rates are $5.50/hr for 1-3 children and $7.50/hr for 4-6 children. (We'll help with up to 2 hours of childcare while you're at your Starting Point group.) Note: reimbursement for childcare occurs once a month.
